She uses all the basic developments and components of the parent brand, saving, as a rule, on the quality of external materials. Eventually coffee machine Spidem Villa, as well as a pack of similar modifications, such as Spidem Trevi Chiara - this is a slightly turned old woman Saeco vienna.

All these machines can already be said to have left the market, they were delivered to us somewhere until 2014-2015, and are currently discontinued. But, nevertheless, sometimes they come up from some warehouses. Villa and Vienna were extremely popular in the late 2000s - early 2010s. It was one of the most common coffee machines in small and medium-sized offices. And now, where they were well looked after, you can find specimens with crazy runs. Why did she gain such fame?

All coffee machines of this series: Saeco Vienna, Spidem Villa, Spidem Trevi Chiara, as well as a whole bunch of slightly different modifications, are legendary with one indisputable fact:

They are almost indestructible

Work for years under heavy loads, easily preparing up to 100 cups every day. Very unpretentious in maintenance. Extremely easy to operate. Inexpensive and easy to repair. A lot of spare parts in wide access.

Extremely simple control that anyone can handle

The Spidem Villa coffee machine is controlled by three buttons and one control: on / off, start coffee brewing, steam preparation. Twist allows you to select the desired volume of the drink, from 20 to 250 ml.

Plus Villa allows you to adjust the degree of grinding, and in the widest possible range and strength, that is, the amount of ground coffee per serving. Both adjustments are located in the grain tank. The amount of ground coffee can be set from 7 to 9 grams in increments of 0.5 grams. The coffee grinder itself is steel, millstone, it makes a decent noise, exactly the same as all other steel ones.

I would like to draw your attention to the fact that the prototype, the Saeco Vienna coffee machine, had no adjustment of the fortress. That is, it was formally, but access to it could be obtained only by removing the upper casing, which is held on several screws. That is, in fact, the user was not able to adjust the fortress, it was possible to play only by grinding. It is possible to regulate the grinding only on the coffee mill currently operating when it is grinding grain. The effect appears after 2-3 servings. Change is necessary one division at a time.

Two boilers for instant steam

Cars of this series had a lot of modifications: Superautomatic, Digital, Exclusive, etc. Some of them were armed with two boilers. Two boilers provide instant switching to the steam supply and vice versa. While single-boiler modifications require a couple of minutes to heat the boiler from 90 to 120 degrees, when milk can be whipped (or vice versa, they need to cool down to serve coffee again after milk foam).

Now I don’t remember which modification has how many boilers, but the usual Saeco Vienna had exactly one, this is a fact. If someone knows for sure this alignment, please write in the comments.

Nuances

1. Noisy - It is really louder than modern counterparts, including because of point two.
2. Thin cheap plastic. This is a paradox. Given that the mechanics of the internal modules, the teapot is strong and reliable, the body itself is made of thin cheap plastic. Often pallets crack, the front service door mount breaks. Plus, the gaps often dance, the assembly itself gives "China." It is in the case that Spidem is still a budget brand.
3. The machine does not warn when it is necessary to clean the waste bin. As a result, it often overflows and clogs the insides, leaking onto the table. This is the most critical moment, especially for beginners or a large flow in the office. To avoid overflow of the waste container, you have to climb and check there all the time. Another thing is that this does not lead to breakdowns of the unit itself, but cleaning up spills and spills is tiring.
4. Only works with grains.
5. No alerts about the need for decalcification and an automatic program for this process.
6. Appearance obviously not home, but utilitarian-industrial. Like the size. Therefore, the machine has always been more popular in the office environment.

Review Verdict

The Saeco Vienna and Spidem Trevi Villa coffee machines are real workhorses that have earned popularity due to their simplicity, oakiness, reliability and low price. But now they are no longer being produced, and what pops up from warehouses is unreasonably expensive by my standards. Cars, in view of their size and design, can be an excellent solution for an office or a small cafe with a turnover of up to 50-100 cups per day, but you still should not take used ones.

Exploited them, as a rule, mercilessly. Due to the fact that they almost did not break, there was a belief that they can be decalcified once every couple of years and cleaned after the sleeves. The equipment, of course, forgave a lot, but to find a well-preserved one, I am afraid, is unrealistic.

Laurels of Saeco Vienna and Spidem Villa well picked up another offspring of Saeco - model Gaggia Syncrony Logic. I will say more, this Hajia is precisely the modified Vienna.
